THE PERFORMANCE LAB™ |
Contributors Gifts of cash and in-kind donations are especially important to projects at THE PERFORMANCE LAB. We have been able, thanks to our TOP grant to match these contributions dollar-for-dollar, bringing the total investment in TPL to over $1 million for this single project alone. Grants from other agencies account for many hundreds of thousands of dollars more. We are grateful to all! Thank you for supporting innovation and passionate performance! National Endowment for the Arts provided a major grant (2005–2006) that enabled TPL to collaborate with the Juilliard School, the José Limón Foundation, Perpich Center for Arts Education, Artsgenesis, schools & arts academies in MN & NJ. The DANA Foundation funded two Interactive Residencies (2006–2007) featuring the work of American master choreographers Gus Solomons jr & Gloria McLean. Pre-service arts specialists were trained in how to use The TPL Model™. U.S.West Foundation provided the initial grant that allowed us to pliot The TPL Model™. A leap of faith that paid off --- ! Artspace Projects, Inc., in partnership with the Minnesota Shubert Performing Arts and Education Center, has underwritten many of our exchanges connecting the Twin Cities to communities across Minnesota. Target Foundation contributed to our 2000-2001 exchanges. Technology Opportunities Program and the U.S. Department of Commerce provided major support for THE PERFORMANCE LAB through a matching grant in 1999-2003. This contribution allowed us to refine The TPL Model for Coaching Performance. VSA Arts of Minnesota contributed to dance exchanges in 2002 involving students with emotional/behavioral and physical disabilities from Brainerd and Minneapolis. A. Scheffer Lang generously supported our elementary school exchanges by underwriting special buses to transport Pike Lake sixth-graders from Mounds View School District to our interactive studios in Hennepin Center, downtown Minneapolis. [From there, they were transported in an interactive studio to the Paul Robeson Community Theme School in New Jersey!] . Many friends have contributed time and resources for a range of workshops and interactive exchanges. |
