BUILDING A CHARACTER
NJ-MN Drama Exchange!

The scripts
that were to have been posted in this section
were derived from the letters
that various characters wrote to each other
on the Bulletin Board.
You could have found the originals there
entitled
Conversations with Somebody Else.

These dialogues and monologues
were only a first step.
The characters themselves — and the playwrights who exchanged the letters in the first place — changed them
to make the scenes say what they wanted to say
in the first place.

Sometimes these coded messages were funny.
And sometimes they were very sad.

These scripts are a tribute to the drama students of Ms. Kirstin Lynch-Walsh from the Southern New Jersey Academy of the Performing Arts and Mr. Chris Fisher's dramaturgy/producers and to some of their friends from Southwest High School who joined them in this grand experiment.
